Unega: Tales of the Guardians

Unega Mountain Dog Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Bellevue, Idaho – works to rehabilitate and rescue Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs and other livestock guardian dogs in Blaine County. The way the laws are written in Idaho allows for cases of animal abuse to go unpunished and allows for the mistreatment of the dogs, particularly in the sheep ranching industry. Tiffany Larson and her team at Unega Mountain Dog Rescue are working to change the laws to protect the livestock guardian dogs and get their legal classification changed in Idaho while making themselves a resource for ranchers.
